Our Ignorance Is Prime Time High In The Material World

Both in 40s, their children go to same school in Pune.

One of them is normal and the other is overweight.

The normal one looks at the other one and thinks -- She is so fat, look at me -- I am so perfect. Yes my stomach is also bulging a bit that much is ok -- after 2 children itna to chalta hai. I chew gum, have my fitbit watch and perfectly trimmed nails and I am so pretty, some friends tell me I look like Kareena.

The other one is thinking -- I don't know what Karma I did, why I cannot be like her. I have been trying Rujuta's diet for 2 years but nothing is working. If only somehow I can become like her then how happy I will be. Whole world will stop and just look at me and say -- wow, you look like Alia Bhatt.

In this way the 2 souls go deep into ignorance every living day. No matter even if I look like Kareena, I still have to become old and die. Remember Nargis, Madhubala, Smita Patil? Where are they now? Atma is not a new word in this country but surprisingly it never sinks in and that is why Krishna starts his message with that.

BG 2.13

देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा ।
तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति ॥ १३ ॥

As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.
